New Year’s Resolution

New Year’s resolution? According to Wikipedia a New Year’s resolution is a tradition, most common in the Western Hemisphere but also found in the Eastern Hemisphere, in which a person resolves to continue good practices, change an undesired trait or behaviour, to accomplish a personal goal, or otherwise improve their life.

I don’t have or don’t specifically do New Year’s resolutions. I do however have plans that I put into place at any time of the year as often as required. I also find myself working at or striving to be better in everything I do. For me it is always good to do introspection and it’s always a time to reflect on the good and the bad. I know I come short and that I can always show more kindness and compassion towards others. I continuously try to aspire to do so and even show more kindness and compassion towards myself in order to continue to be able to give to others. Always try to celebrate successes and just live life in general.

My wish for all is that you may accomplish the goals you set for yourself and that you may keep striving to live life to the fullest. Further, I would like to wish everyone a prosperous New Year!  May we all find ourselves in a world  that overflows with good health, kindness, love and blessings.

I believe in God, love and life! Married to my friend, mentor and rock. We have been blessed with two beautiful girls. My personal journey provides opportunities for me to empower individuals to lead better lives. I have had a real desire to work with people for a long time and have always been fascinated with human behaviour and understanding how the mind works.
I love the following quote by H. Jackson Brown, Jr. “Remember that children, marriages and flower gardens reflect the kind of care they get”

Hello,
I really like your article, I have the impression to hear myself think …
Perfect, your words resonate with exactly what I’m thinking.
These resolutions which go off and slam from January 1, it is not reasonable and violent enough. Whereas by being a little more benevolent with oneself, by being one’s best friend, I believe we do greater things in the long term …
I kiss you (I can’t do it but I can write it)
Happy new year 2021

This is smart: ” I do however have plans that I put into place at any time of the year as often as required.” Reminds me that you have to know when to change course, can’t base everything around set dates and times. Have a great rest of your week!

I find that it helps to make concrete changes in my life, even if they are small ones. Otherwise, if I have resolved to be more considerate of others, how do I know I have succeeded? Three little “rules” I have for myself now are not to take the closest parking spot, not to take the last one on the shelf, and when going into the grocery store, looking for someone loading up their car and offering to take their cart back inside. Little things, but I’m hoping they’ll help me be in the habit of not putting myself first.

That’s so great and it’s the small things that counts in life and that will aid us becoming a better person. I’m already wondering what I can do, or what more I can do, although they are small it will most definitely contribute to the better good. Thank you for sharing your words of wisdom.

So true what a lovely statement and post. Beautiful way to think my friend. I love your white eyelet dress, I use to wear them when I was a child and now they are back in style and what a beautiful yard filled with love of flowers. Such a lovely way at looking at life. Sending lots of love and hugs your way. Love Joni xoxox
