If I knew what tomorrow holds

I started blogging during the pandemic and felt the relief of being able to do so, especially in a time when my thoughts where racing in so many directions. It helped me to keep up with the acceleration of my thoughts. Writing here is very therapeutic and somehow brought calmness to my world. It’s also a platform that allows me to share and wonder about many things, like what will tomorrow hold. Everything seemed like we’re stuck in the now, yet more than a year later we are still living in the pandemic world.

If I knew what tomorrow holds

Will I hold onto the past, to yesterday?

If I knew what tomorrow holds

Will it best to forget about yesterday?

If I knew what tomorrow holds

Will I worry as much as I do now?

If I knew what tomorrow holds

Will I live in the moment, live for right now?

If  I knew what tomorrow holds

Will I care like I care today?

If I knew what tomorrow holds

Will I love like I love today?

If  I knew what tomorrow holds

Will tomorrow be what I wished for?

If I knew what tomorrow holds

What will my tomorrow be?

“Tomorrow, today will be yesterday, and tomorrow will be today. By the nature of time when tomorrow will shift to become today, we demystify the notion that we are powerless in the face of the future, as the future will become the present moment naturally. On the basis that tomorrow will also eventually become yesterday, we can fundamentally note that time converges through yesterday, today, and tomorrow to where the essence of our very existence converges in the present moment.”― Forrest Curran

I believe in God, love and life! Married to my friend, mentor and rock. We have been blessed with two beautiful girls. My personal journey provides opportunities for me to empower individuals to lead better lives. I have had a real desire to work with people for a long time and have always been fascinated with human behaviour and understanding how the mind works.
I love the following quote by H. Jackson Brown, Jr. “Remember that children, marriages and flower gardens reflect the kind of care they get”

The present moment is the key to everything … it’s difficult because we humans are constantly invaded by parasitic thoughts that tear us away from the present moment.
I tell you a Chinese proverb that a friend often told me, I like it a lot, and sometimes I think about this proverb, and by force I can even describe the color of this horse’s coat;)
“Do not try to catch the tail of the horse that has just galloped by.”
What is past no longer exists, the future does not exist, only the present exists.
Thank you for your message, and just like you, the time of writing is an appointment that soothes me, it allows me to put my thoughts to bed, to find order in my emotions, to put them in color. .. it’s great, what a wonderful power, and what a gift for yourself (and others …)

Thank you for sharing!!… I would just as soon not know what tomorrow may bring, it would take the adventure out of life… just live today because it will not come again and as for tomorrow, Que Sera Sera… 🙂

Until we meet again..
May your day be touched
by a bit of Irish luck,
Brightened by a song
in your heart,
And warmed by the smiles
of people you love.
(Irish Saying)

Writing can be very therapeutic and a good release. Very well said, we live our past and future in the present moment since our past actions are the ones that brought us to the present moment we are experiencing and the present moment actions will determine our future experience. Its best to be grateful in each moment and live it the best we can. Nice post.

What a lovely notion! Such a beautifully penned and relevant poem! Knowing what tomorrow holds could potentially be both rewarding or devastating but I believe it’s this unpredictability of life that adds a sense of mortality to our lives as well. Thank you so much for this thought provoking write!❤️

I like this poem, because it’s true, right? Depending on what happens tomorrow, you’ll wanna either hold on or let go, but none of us knows what’s gonna happen tomorrow, so we just have to live in the here and now.

I’m happy that your blog has been therapeutic for you. It’s wonderful when it works out that way because you get something positive from your blog and your readers get something positive too because they enjoy your content. I loved your poem and the quote, it’s true – you can’t be helpless to impact the future when technically every single second is in the future and you’re constantly living it. I found that to be really encouraging.
