Cheers to Celebrating Life!

I am a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mom, an aunt, and yes, I am a woman.

I celebrate my birthday soon and looking forward to celebrating life.

Born on August the 9th, a Leo according to zodiac signs, describing the following:

Strengths: Creative, passionate, generous, warm-hearted, cheerful, humorous

Weaknesses: Arrogant, stubborn, self-centred, lazy, inflexible

Leo likes: Theatre, taking holidays, being admired, expensive things, bright colours, fun with friends

Leo dislikes: Being ignored, facing difficult reality, not being treated like a king or queen

Some of the descriptions might be true and some I’ll say not. I honestly think that we as an individual have control over who we want to be and who we become.  Yes, circumstances mould us too, but we still have control over who we choose to be.

“When you strike a woman, you strike a rock.”
(Zulu saying used during the protests of 1956

Here in South Africa, we also celebrate women’s month in August, so double celebration for me. I know I love celebrating life, but I feel that it’s only worth doing so if we also celebrate one another.

I’ll start celebrating all the amazing women in my life. Mom, aunts, sister, daughters, nieces, family, and friends (including my online friends). I love you all and I hope to always bring joy and upliftment as well as sharing in your joy.

If you don’t feel included in the above, don’t worry I still celebrate you! Cheers to celebrating life!

I believe in God, love and life! Married to my friend, mentor and rock. We have been blessed with two beautiful girls. My personal journey provides opportunities for me to empower individuals to lead better lives. I have had a real desire to work with people for a long time and have always been fascinated with human behaviour and understanding how the mind works.
I love the following quote by H. Jackson Brown, Jr. “Remember that children, marriages and flower gardens reflect the kind of care they get”

The holiday commemorates the national march of women on this day in 1956 to petition against legislation that required African persons to carry the pass. We do know that the March 8th, is International Women’s. Thank you so much for the birthday wishes

Until we meet again, today and every day
May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
The rains fall soft upon your fields
May green be the grass you walk on
May blue be the skies above you
May pure be the joys that surround you
May true be the hearts that love you.

I love that saying. Women are so strong. It is a lovely thing to celebrate all women in our diverse world. So many wonderful cultures. One thing I thing we could really improve upon in the US is appropriating the wisdom that our elders have to offer. For example there are not many Holocaust survivors left. Ninety two year old Bernard Offen. He survived five different camps. Most survivors live in poverty according to a Washington Post article on March 24, 2021. Imagine getting to hug this man what a blessing your heart would feel.
Bless you my dear friend. Have an amazing rest of your week. We strong women are a blessing to our world. Love ya ❤️🤗🦋Joni

If we can care for one another deeply, that’s wisdom! The wisdom of our elders promote well-being and so needed, especially in trouble times. Sadly, knowledge without wisdom can also destroy it. Your writings are filled with so much wisdom and I see your kind and caring heart in all of that. You are indeed a strong women Joni! Love and hugs 🤗 🌸💕Henrietta
