Keep Moving Forward

Keep Moving Forward.

I wrote the following in a blog I posted on the 13 November 2020, The Mind and Possibilities: An open mind produces positivity and generates plans with so many possibilities!” It came from a place wanting to plan, wanting to put things into reality. Or perhaps forcing my mind to accept things that wasn’t happening but motivating myself not to give up and to keep on remaining positive. Keep moving forward.

I perceive my writings to be about life positivity. I however must admit by the time I express my thoughts on this platform, I have gone through many negative thoughts. Sometimes it feels like I’ve eventually got to think and talk about what I want and how to get it. This I believe makes me feel happier and in control of my life.

Taking that one step forward is better than none and I know that it will always bring me closer to my end goal. Some days you probably feel that you just can’t get out of bed, never mind taking a step in that direction that you know is the one that will bring you closer to your goal. Other days you might take massive leaps making up for the days you had no progress or the days you kept on falling back. Keep moving forward.

I got up from my writing and started dancing as this is just another way of uplifting my spirit. Never mind that I looked silly but I had my daughter and niece in stiches with laughter. I am not a professional dancer and never had formal dancing lessons but I do enjoy moving even without music. With dancing you move forward and step back and perhaps sideways, but the beat, even if it’s only in your mind helps you to move forward. For me this is life! Some days you eager to get up, to dance, and you’ll have that beat in your step. Other days you feel a bit down, perhaps really down with worry and problems, but that is also okay. I love this quote “It’s okay not to be okay” and I often hang on to this as I step forward in life. Keep moving forward.

My wish for everyone and myself is that we continue to move positively forward in living our lives.  So that we can experience the first positive move of many more to come. The song Conga comes to mind, it is the first hit single released by the American band Miami Sound Machine led by Gloria Estefan.

I find the lyrics encouraging:

Come on, shake your body baby, do the conga
I know you can’t control yourself any longer
Come on, shake your body baby, do the conga
I know you can’t control yourself any longer

Come on, shake your body baby, do the conga
I know you can’t control yourself any longer
Feel the rhythm of the music getting stronger
Don’t you fight it ’til you tried it, do that conga beat

Everybody gather ’round now
Let your body feel the heat
Don’t you worry if you can’t dance

Let the music move your feet

The song continues, go on, play the song and feel the beat! https://gloriaestefan.lnk.to/listenYD  The reason for adding it here is to encourage you and of course myself to continue moving to the “beat”. The “beat” that is your goals and aspirations. Keep moving forward.

I believe in God, love and life! Married to my friend, mentor and rock. We have been blessed with two beautiful girls. My personal journey provides opportunities for me to empower individuals to lead better lives. I have had a real desire to work with people for a long time and have always been fascinated with human behaviour and understanding how the mind works.
I love the following quote by H. Jackson Brown, Jr. “Remember that children, marriages and flower gardens reflect the kind of care they get”

Oh, that was nice … my feet got itchy with that song from Gloria Estefan 😉.
It’s in my nature to be positive … but I also learned it’s not a sin to be a little “down in the dumps” sometimes! But it is important that we don’t get stuck in that negativity (and a little dance always helps)! I’m with you … let’s move forward (although it might sometimes just be a little bit slow) 👣.
Oh, and love that photo … it brings a calmness to mind!

Oh dear Henrietta you are great. I too dance around the house when I am feeling really happy. I always wanted to be a ballerina and I still do creative dance when by myself. I love it. Next time your moving forward try to image there beside you. Love you sweetie. ❤️🤗🦋😘

Thank you for sharing your positive thoughts and lovely photo!!… your post definitely has the feet moving, but I am afraid that if I tried the Conga I would probably end up in the emergency room… I have dancing naked in the rain on my “bucket list” but that is not likely to happen either… “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain”. (Author Unknown)… 🙂

Until we meet again…
May your day be touched
by a bit of Irish luck,
Brightened by a song
in your heart,
And warmed by the smiles
of people you love.
(Irish Saying)

Nice write-up! I think it’s important to give credence to all our feelings. Just pushing aside the negative and trying to avoid them isn’t always the most helpful. Dancing and music: these things bring us closer to the higher elements of life, I think. Have a great week!
